How do 24-hour asynchronous Guild Wars work?

Each war is a single, persistent battle that runs for roughly 24 hours on a tile-based grid map, fought between 2–4 guilds of up to six players each (bots fill any empty seats). It plays like a living board game: you don't all need to be online at the same time. Whenever you log in, you spend your energy on moves, attacks, heals, shields, and control effects, then leave — the battlefield and the score keep evolving while you're away. When the timer runs out, results are tallied and the winning guild earns Victory Points toward its seasonal ranking.

Do I have to stay online for the whole war?

No. Wars are fully asynchronous. Your guild's progress is saved on Kalamuth's real-time backend, so you can dip in for a few minutes, spend your banked energy, and come back later. The war resolves automatically at its deadline whether or not you're watching.

How is a war actually won?

Accepted Answer

The win condition depends on the map. Some wars are decided by total damage dealt, others by controlling key zones on the grid, and others by dealing the most damage to a boss. Whatever the objective, winning awards Victory Points that climb your guild up the seasonal ladder.

How big is a guild, and how many guilds fight at once?

Accepted Answer

Guilds hold up to six players, and bots fill any open slots so a war is always full. A single war can be a 2-, 3-, or 4-way fight between rival guilds. Seasons run 30 wars per region, with separate ladders for North America and Europe.

How does the energy economy work?

Accepted Answer

Every action you take in a war costs energy — moving, attacking, healing, shielding, taunting, applying crowd control, or using items. You regenerate +1 energy every 2 minutes, up to a cap of 100. There's also a short 3-second cooldown between actions. This is what gives Kalamuth its burst rhythm: energy banks up while you're away, then you spend it in a focused session.

How fast does energy recharge, and is there a cap?

Energy refills at +1 every 2 minutes and caps at 100, so a full recharge from empty takes a little over three hours. Because energy keeps building up to that cap while you're offline, logging in less often still leaves you with a full reserve to spend.

What happens when I run out of energy mid-war?

Nothing is lost. You simply wait for energy to regenerate or come back to the war later. Since wars last around 24 hours and the score ticks continuously, stepping away to recharge never costs you your place in the fight.

How is my account managed across devices?

Kalamuth accounts are handled by Clerk, our secure identity provider. You sign in once, and that single identity carries your characters, guild, gear, Diamonds, and rankings — so your progress isn't tied to any one device.

Can I play on my phone and on the web with the same account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Kalamuth runs on iOS, Android, and web/desktop, and they all share one Clerk-backed account. Sign in on any platform and you pick up exactly where you left off — there's only ever one set of progress.

How do I sign in?

Accepted Answer

Sign-in runs through Clerk's secure authentication. Use the same credentials on every device to access your account; switching phones or hopping to the web browser version never creates a separate profile.

What's the difference between Solo Hunts and Guild Battlegrounds?

Accepted Answer

Guild Battlegrounds are the competitive heart of Kalamuth: your guild fights rival guilds on tile maps in 24-hour wars for Victory Points and seasonal ranking. Solo Hunts are PvE — you take on escalating bosses on your own, from the Goblin King at Level 20 up to the Blood Moon Herald at Level 500. In short: Battlegrounds are ranked guild-vs-guild PvP, while Solo Hunts are solo boss-hunting to test builds and earn gear.

Do Solo Hunts affect my seasonal ranking?

Seasonal guild and player rankings are driven by Guild Wars in the Battlegrounds. Solo Hunts are about progression — practicing your class, refining a loadout, and earning gear that you then bring into the wars that do count toward the ladder.

What are Diamonds?

Diamonds are Kalamuth's optional premium currency. The game is free to play — Diamonds are a convenience for players who want them, and they're tied to your account rather than a single device.

How do I buy Diamonds on iOS versus Android?

Accepted Answer

Diamonds are purchased through each platform's official billing: Apple's App Store on iOS and Google Play on Android. Whichever store you buy through, the Diamonds are credited to your account, so your balance appears everywhere you sign in.

Can I buy Diamonds on one platform and spend them on another?

Accepted Answer

Your Diamond balance is bound to your account through Clerk, so Diamonds you purchase are spendable across all your devices. Each purchase itself, however, is processed and billed by the store you bought it on — Apple or Google — and receipts, billing questions, and refunds are handled by that store under its own policies.

Yes. Kalamuth is free to download and play on iOS and Android. Diamonds and other purchases are entirely optional.
